Pull Strength on Steel for a Cylinder

This calculation estimates the pull strength on steel for a cylinder

Note that effective magnetic length is two times actual length for straight line materials in contact with steel, thus the permeance coefficient increases when in contact. Note that the poles of Alnico magnets are not at the magnet ends except when magnetized in a closed circuit. When removed from the magnetizing yoke the poles move inward and the poles will never return to the end when placed on steel. This is easily seen if two magnets are stacked and then magnetized. If viewed with viewing material it will shown one wide neutral zone. When viewed after separating and rejoining it will show three neutralzones. This makes good Alnico calculations more difficult.

Fill in the Br, Ur, Diameter, Width, TKNS and Lf values, and the Pull Force, Area, Open CKT. P.C, the P.C on Steel and the CALC Bd will be calculated.
