Inside Sales Manager

Position Title: Inside Sales Manger
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Reports To: Sr. VP, Business Development

The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the inside sales department. Major duties include supervising the inside sales and sales support staff to meet corporate goals, manage the use of Sales standard operating procedures (SOPs), providing management communications to the Outside Sales Team and facilitating communications between sales and other internal functions as necessary. Will monitor and report on sales metrics and serve as a critical source of market conditions, competitive information, and overall business climate within the assigned account base. Objectives also include the continuous development of a technically sound inside sales staff enabling DMT to increase profitability and market share.

Major Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for all facets of office activity and maintenance and build a solid inside sales team that exceeds sales goals.
  • Supervise the inside sales and clerical staffs, including direct communications with customers to ensure that sales pipelines remain full with qualified leads and prospects.
  • Monitor employee productivity and motivate team to reach goals; manage performance and salary reviews, and develop employee development plans.
  • Work with Human Resources to determine appropriate staffing levels; provide coaching for existing inside sales employees and training for new employees.  
  • Participate in strategy and top accounts; evaluate and formulate action plans for problem accounts, and collaborate regarding special quotes and other specific needs.
  • Assist in the planning, development and training of all departmental SOPs (standard operating procedures).
  • Is involved in reviewing all quotations prior to customer issuance and participates in MCOS journal and RMA reviews.
  • Coordinate communications between outside sales and all other internal functions as needed.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate and motivate inside sales and support staffs.
  • Promote positive employee relations through fair and consistent application of company policies and SOPs.
  • Meet personally with top accounts and participate at strategic trade shows as required.
  • Report on market changes, competitive activities, business trends, significant new business opportunities, and top account status.
  • Assist with short and long range planning and forecasts; execute plans as outlined by the Directors of the company.
  • ­Demonstrate a technical understanding of customer applications and associated soft / hard magnetic components product needs across a wide range of both established and evolving market sectors. This will include our existing product / technology portfolio and new product lines planned for the future.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Job Demands

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied science or equivalent experience.
  • Job history demonstrating above average leadership and communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of technical sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Thorough understanding of Dexter’s processes and capabilities.
  • Good computer skills relating to MS Office, mainframe systems and contact management software.
  •  Experience with magnets and magnetic design concepts is a plus.
  • Must have a professional personal presence with an upbeat, energetic personality.
  • Must be able to take initiative, be dependable and take pride in their work.
  • Strong oral, written and listening communication skills.
