Quality Management System

Dexter Magnetic Technologies successfully completed its ISO 9001:2008 recertification audit conducted by BSI Management Systems America, Inc. in July 2010 and will retain certification through October 2012.

We additionally comply with the requirements of SAE AS 9003. Our Hicksville, NY facility is currently implementing an AS9100-C Aerospace Quality Management System. This facility is scheduled to be certified to AS9100-C Aerospace standard by the end of first quarter of 2011.

We have adopted Joseph Juran’s definition “a customer is anyone who receives or is affected by the product or process.” This definition included both internal and external customers. This expansion of thinking caused many changes in the management of quality.

The new ISO 9001 (ISO 9001:2008) clearly states that, “...top management shall ensure that customer requirements are determined and are met with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction."  Therefore, our Quality Management System includes the basic of a good quality system, such as:

  • Understanding customer requirements.

  • Ensuring we have the ability to meet customer requirements.

  • Ensuring we have people capable of doing the work that affects quality.

  • Ensuring that we have buildings, equipment and support services needed to meet product requirements.

  • Ensuring we identify problems and work to correct or prevent them.

We believe that quality good products come from:

  • Good people through hiring, experience, education or training.

  • Good leaders.

  • Good designs.

  • Good materials and equipment.

  • Solid processes that include necessary process controls.

  • A collection of the fundamental quality technique and tools.

  • Excellent relentless and training.

  • Good communicators in key positions.

  • Access to more advanced quality techniques.

For us, "quality is everyone's job" is not a slogan, but a driving force.
