Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS)

EAS systems are now quite common in most retail stores. Their sole purpose is the reduction of shrinkage/pilferage and thus the increasing of profits. EAS systems are identified by the telltale antenna panels at store exits and security tags of all sizes and shapes attached to high value goods. The retailer must remove or deactivate these security tags when the item is sold to prevent the alarm from sounding. Our detachers and desensitizers are designed to facilitate easy tag removal or tag deactivation. We can also assist in the development of EAS systems of the future, which will include RFID tags to combine EAS, customer checkout, and inventory tracking functions.

Airport and Homeland Security

We play an integral part in working with contractors to the FAA in the development of permanent magnet dipoles and quadrapoles used in mass spectrometers. The engineered magnetic fields within the spectrometer are used to help detect explosives.
