More than two decades ago, Dexter began investing in engineering and tools to enhance the development of nuclear magnet resonance imaging (NMRI) for customers in the energy industry. As the first magnetic material provider to recognize the benefits which magnetic technology could bring to the energy market, Dexter continues to partner with key industry players to design and build systems to meet the stringent demands of the market.
Dexter’s magnetic products and systems are capable of handling the most demanding environmental conditions, both on and off shore and from shallow wells to geothermal depths. Our design engineers are experts in designing both permanent magnet and electromagnet components and systems that are ready to tackle the toughest jobs.
Dexter is an expert in the magnetic flux leakage (MFL) principle, used in non-destructive inspection devices. Typical inspection designs use Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB). NdFeB magnets are the strongest commercially available magnetic materials, both magnetically and structurally. Other applications may call for any one of a variety of magnet materials, including Flexible Ferrite, Hard Ferrite and NdFeB.
