FINEMET® common mode choke cores are made of a nanocrystalline soft magnetic material that Hitachi Metals developed as a world first. Conduction noise often causes serious malfunctions in onboard electronic components. With more electronic components being installed in cars, conduction noise is becoming a more serious issue for safe driving. Compared to conventional products with Mn-Zn ferrite cores, FINEMET® has higher magnetic permeability and magnetic flux density. It results in realizing size and weight reductions of automotive electronic components.
Applications include hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).
